When you pluck the 15 reeds, their floating, enchanting sound unfolds, which has a calming and balanced effect. The gentle vibrations are not only transmitted to the room, but also pleasantly to the hands. The curved shape of the acacia block fits even small hands perfectly, so that the 15 reeds can be played comfortably. And even with large hands, playing is a pleasure, because the reeds have enough space between them so that they can be plucked precisely. Since the kalimba is tuned diatonically to G major, you can create improvised sound carpets as well as complex melodies. The dark reeds serve as a guide when you want to play according to notes.
If you press the kalimba on a large resonating body such as a table or shelf, you can even increase the volume of your melodies.
