The wind chime Furin Bonshō is a small work of art made of cast iron, which harmoniously combines tradition and a love of nature, as well as sound and aesthetics. With a diameter of 60 mm and a height of 70 mm, it is compact and one of the larger Fūrin in our range. Its design is reminiscent of the large Buddhist temple bells bonshō, which can sometimes be up to two meters in diameter and are usually cast in bronze.
Historically, furin (fūrin) wind chimes were used in temples to drive away evil spirits and promote positive energies. They are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and represent the transience of life – a concept known as ‘Mono no aware’. Each ringing of the wind chime is a fleeting moment of beauty that reminds us to appreciate the moment.
Ideal for your living room, garden or balcony, this wind chime brings a special atmosphere to your surroundings. Each of these wind chimes is handcrafted and unique, bearing witness to traditional craftsmanship.
The Furin Bonshō wind chime is manufactured by the OIGEN Foundry in Japan – a traditional producer of cast iron goods (Nambu-Tekki) that was founded in 1852.
