Kou Xian (Ho Ho) - Set of 3

Jawharp from Yunnan, China

These small brass Jew's Harps are tuned to a melodious unit. Each of the lamellas has its own keynote on which you can play several overtones/harmonics.

Traditionally there are lots of complex melodies for the Kou Xian. But it is also something like a "polyphone pocket synthesizer" for the experimental musician and of course a must for every Jew's Harp maniac.

The sound dimensions will blow up all your expectations.

Look out! Addictive!

All sets come with a case.

These authentic Kou Xian (Hoho) Jew's Harps of the Yi people from Yunnan, China are handmade and traditionally not accurately tuned. If you are looking for cleanly tuned (standard pitch A 440Hz) Kou Xian Jew's Harps or for other intervals have a look at our tuned Vietnamese Kou Xian range.

Note: When we started to bring the Kou Xian to the West, we actually accidently used the wrong transcription "Kou Xiang". This name with "g" became popular everywhere in the world since almost everyone seemed to copied it without any proof. We would like to correct our mistake. Therefore we use the right transcription "Kou Xian" from now. Jew's Harp players in the world, please forgive us this unexpectedly far-reaching mistake.
