The Premium 24 is the middle one of the three Gonamombe concert Mbiras with 24 lamellas. With its spring steel reeds, it combines the greatest possible playing comfort with a very good price-performance ratio.
The three models differ only in the material of the lamellae. In this Mbira model, the 24 lamellae are made of spring steel. This steel is wonderfully elastic, but not rust-proof, which requires a little more care.
The resonance body made of well stored Kiaat wood (wild teak), as well as the integrated rattling effects take the player on a sonic journey of discovery. For the virtuoso Mbira professional a very own musical cosmos opens up into unexpected and inspiring expanses. When you hold this Mbira or Kalimba in your hand, you can feel not only the solid craftsmanship, but also the long vital tradition behind. When you pluck it, a dynamic, euphoric or melancholically touching sound carpet can develop - reveal itself.
The lamellas are tuned to whole tones, but can be retuned or fine-tuned with a small hammer:
G2 - B2 - C3 - D3 - E3 - F3 - G3 - A3 - B3 - C4 - D4 - E4 - F4 - G4 - A4 - B4 - C5 - D5 - E5 - F5 - G5 - A5
(see also fingering chart at the product images)
High-quality workmanship, a clean sound and an excellent price-performance ratio convince with this first-class Mbira.
