By simply plucking the steel reeds, you can elicit tones from the handy instruments that harmonise in almost any combination. Playing can be so easy!Experienced players will be just as enthusiastic as beginners, because every Magadi Kalimba is finely tuned and the variety of models means that there is a suitable instrument for every preference. For studio recordings, effects experiments and stage performances, for example, the kalimbas with pickups are ideal. The calimbas, covered with hard-wearing goatskin, are a special highlight. Their tones are very long-lasting and harmonious in their sound. The open back makes it easy to achieve wah-wah effects that invite you to improvise exuberantly. In pairs and vis á vis, you can enjoy the unusual duo Kalimba.

Sceptical about Chinese products? We were too! But the young start-up company convinced us. They have been working on the unusual and high-quality kalimbas since 2016. They creatively try out new and familiar shapes, select woods and experiment with the steel reeds.  

For a long-lasting and at the same time easy-to-play instrument, the optimal nickel-plating of the lamellas was tested particularly intensively. Unfortunately, the spring steel of the reeds rusts very quickly if left untreated, but if the steel lamellas are galvanised too much with nickel, they become hard and difficult to play. Magadi has found a balanced mixture for durability and playing pleasure.
