Ghungroos & Other Bells
Bells of all kinds, everything that rings and chimes, whether played to accompany music or used directly for dancing: you will find the familiar bell sticks with little bells or metal plates in a variety of designs, and also bell rings from the mountain regions of Vietnam. Simply stick it on your finger and play it by moving your hand. In a demo video, Roxi from DAN MOI shows you how these metal bell rings are played. A rare little item is found in our Ghungroos, the Indian ankle bells. They are worn, for example, during the Kathak dance.
Another use is when hiking in areas inhabited by bears. They enable you to move safely during the day and then at the evening campfire, you have a suitable rhythm instrument to hand.
