Maui Xaphoon - Maui Xaphoon - The Handcrafted Original tuned to Bb.
Each of these Maui Xaphoons are manufactured by Xaphoon inventor Brian "Papa B." Wittman from handselected high grade bamboo in his small workshop in Hawaii.
Compared to the synthetic Xaphoon Classic each individual bamboo xaphoon is a unique piece. Although the tuning is the similarly precise, the timbre slightly varies thanks to the natural qualities of the bamboo it is made from - which gives the Maui Xaphoons a more natural and spirited charm.
The Xaphoon Classic has the Bb3 (A#3) as the lowest tune. The key is D# and the chromatical range is over two octaves up to Bb5 (A#5).
The Xaphoon is equipped with a standard tenor saxophone reed which overblows in the duodecimo.
The Xaphoon comes with a protection cap and a manual including a fingering chart.
