This extraordinary CD has been produced by Leo Tadagawa as a project of the Japanese Jaw Harp Association (Nihon Koukin Koukai). It contains 45 tracks of old and modern Khomus Jaw Harp music of Tuva.
This album consists of 2 parts. The first one is the result of collaborative work of Leo Tadagawa, the head of the Japenese Jaw Harp Association, with Valentina Suzukei, one of the leading ethno-musicologists of Tuva. Most of the tracks have been recorded in 2010 in Kyzyl and they show a wide range of Khomus music performed by several musicians of different age.
In the second part you can listen to field recordings made by Valentina Suzukei between 1985-95, mostly in Western Tuva.
The CD comes with a lovingly designed and intersting booklet (English, Russian, Japanese) with a complete track list and some background information on the Tuvan Khomus Jaw Harp music tradition.
