The Toreador Song from George Bizet's passionate opera Carmen sounds proud and powerful when you play the small music box.
In his opera, the French Romantic composer deals with the love of two men for one woman. With the well-known Toreador Song, the bullfighter Escamillo extols himself to the charismatic Carmen. He sings of his dangerous and victorious experiences in the bullfighting arena and confidently hopes that his feelings will be reciprocated.
The melody sounds louder and more intense if you place the little music box, with or without its cardboard box, on a larger resonating body. This can be a table, a chair, a shelf or a box. Have fun experimenting!
