The cheeky and independent girl Pippi Longstocking, created by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, makes her own world as she likes it. While the lyrics to the Pippi Longstocking song were originally written by Astrid Lindgren for the German-Swedish television series of the same name, the melody was composed by Swedish jazz musician Jan Johansson. The song is particularly well known and very popular in German-speaking and Swedish-speaking countries.

The cheerful melody sounds more powerful when you remove the small musical mechanism from its lovingly decorated box.
