The large seed pods of the pangi tree make the hand rattle sound powerful and full. Thanks to the wrist strap, the Pangi Seed Rattle lies comfortably in the hand and can be modulated in a variety of ways. From delicate, warm sounds to powerful, penetrating accents, you can rustle, rattle and shake as you wish.
The pangi tree (Pangium edele) thrives in the humid mangrove forests of South East Asia and only bears its sonorous seeds after around 15 years, making it unsuitable as a plantation tree. The pangi seeds are harvested from wild trees and processed in an environmentally friendly way. In order to produce edible keluak seeds from the pangi seeds, which contain hydrocyanic acid, the cooked seeds must be buried in the ground and fermented for some time. This gives the seed kernel its dark brown colour.
