The Morsing jaw harp is part of the classical music ensemble, the so called Carnatic music tradition, in South India. Traditional drum rhythms are being transcribed for the Morsing and accompany the soloist. A very strong reed provides the Morsing with a loud and clear sound, which is particularly suitable for fast and rythmic playing! You create the characteristic Morsing sound using various breathing techniques while playing.
This autochthonous jaw harp comes from Tamil Nadu in South India and it is very genuine in shape, finishing and sound. This Morsing (also spelled Moorsing or Mursing) is perfectly suited for advanced performers.
