The Bass Jaw Harp Vargan Letyagin Hammer vibrates mystically deep and unfolds a wonderful carpet of sound. You can modulate the full sound in a variety of ways using different breathing techniques. You can play it rhythmically and quickly as well as slowly and meditatively.
An excellent jaw harp that also impresses with its unpretentious design and matt black finish. Letyagin forges his vargans north of Yekaterinburg at the foot of the Urals and likes to get his inspiration from the vast forests of his surroundings. He has decorated the perfectly fitting wooden box with floral ornaments and a crowned lizard.
Russia is a country with a handful of jaw harp traditions: in Sakha/Yakutia, in the Altai, and in Tuva the Khomus (or Komus) is played; in Bashkortostan the Kubyz is known, and in Western Russia and in the big cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg one can hear the name Vargan. An overview.
