The rousing rhythms of the large coconut maraca are very loud and present. A whole coconut filled with steel balls serves as the rattle's resonating body. This sophisticated combination of melodious coconut and heavy steel is responsible for the powerful, penetrating sound of the coconut maraca. It is ideal for fiery, driving soundscapes and exuberant improvisation.
It is rattled all over the world. However, maracas are particularly well known as a rustling and driving accompaniment in Latin American Music. Here they are usually played in pairs and rattle rhythmically to salsa, cumba, bossa, nova, merengue and samba.
The untreated Maraca Kokos Groß comes with a coloured ribbon on the wooden handle.
