This Vargan was hand-forged by the young master Plekhanov, who lives and works north of Kiev (Ukraine). At first, the archaic look of this quaint Jaw Harp does not suggest the well-balanced and precise sound that pours out during play, that surrounds the player noticeably and reminds of the typical Yakut Khomus sound. This sound and the long tongue of this peculiar Jaw Harp are especially suitable for the intuitive and meditative play, but also allow excursions into wild rhythms and into the overtone realm.
