In the Ukraine we discovered genuine and elaborate craftsmanship. Here, near Lviv, Master Svatovsky works the iron so skillfully that these excellent jaw harps are the result. Because they are so solid and sturdy, these Vargans also forgive a somewhat rougher approach of playing. Despite this, they lie well in the hand, are well tuned and sound very clear and loud. The well-known larynx, tongue and diaphragm techniques can also be played fabulously. A grandiose new discovery!
The Vargan Mahnit opens up a wide and open sound sphere. With it you can go on a fast, dynamic ride or be driven by the soft, enchanting sound. Nevertheless, this jaw harp's sound is remarkably clear and loud, which is due to the sturdy yet flexible tongue. And that even at low pitches, like the C1! This reed dynamic and the powerful sound resemble Japanese Jaw Harps.
Even the trigger of this excellent Vargan is beautifully shaped. Particularly practical is the small magnet, which is placed in the overhang of the tongue and can easily be inserted into the eye of the trigger. Depending on the model, this allows the tone to be played a quarter or half lower than the keynote.
The Vargan Mahnit is available plain, without ornaments or decorated with a forged sun wreath.
