In the Ukraine we discovered genuine and elaborate craftsmanship. Here, near Lviv, Master Svatovsky works the iron so skillfully that these excellent jaw harps are the result. Because they are so solid and sturdy, these Vargans also forgive a somewhat rougher approach of playing. Despite this, they lie well in the hand, are well tuned and sound very clear and loud. The well-known larynx, tongue and diaphragm techniques can also be played fabulously. A grandiose new discovery!
For those who enjoy a dynamic, sharp - and yeah, crisp sound, the Vargan Norvehiya is highly recommended. Although the tongue is clamped in the style of a Norwegian Munnharpe, its form reminds more of a Temir Komuz from Kyrgyzstan. This is also apparent in the full, intertwining sound tapestry that pours out playing this remarkable jaw harp and makes one dream of galloping horses in the endless steppe.

The Vargan Norvehiya comes in a wooden case that is exactly tailored to the shape and size of the jaw harp. Each wooden box is handcrafted and therefore varies in its design. The lacing, which is made of leather or fabric, is just as variable.
