Gongs
It is the most important group of instruments from Southeast Asia: the gongs. They are frequently played as melody instruments in ensembles in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam or the Philippines. In Asia, gongs are part of the equipment of temples and are played as an accompaniment to Buddhist prayers.
The gongs in the DAN MOI range can be used as a musical instrument, e.g. to give rhythmical structure to music. But they are also used in Feng Shui. For example, the sound of a gong has a positive effect on the atmosphere of a room. But gongs are also played to accompany meditations and have therapeutic applications. From a purely practical point of view, the gongs can be used to signal the beginning of an event or sounded at breakfast. Our button gongs and the little Feng gong can be held by a cord in the hand and sounded by striking with a stick. We recommend hanging the big Feng gong on a frame (available separately). It has a diameter of 45 or 55 cm.
