Fine Vargan jaw harp from Glazyrin's workshop. He crafts his precious instruments in Chelyabinsk, a Russian city in the south of the Urals. These jaw harp is very dynamic and full of beans. Every source of modulation results in a clear sound. With sharp breathing in through the harp the still tongue will get in move. This mouth harp is really a jackpot.
The decorated wooden box - developed by Glazyrin to fit this Vargan - is available optionally.
Russia is a country with a handful of jaw harp traditions: in Sakha/Yakutia, in the Altai, and in Tuva the Khomus (or Komus) is played; in Bashkortostan the Kubyz is known, and in Western Russia and in the big cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg one can hear the name Vargan. An overview.
