The little sister of the Fujara, the Koncovka, is an overtone flute made of elderberry wood. It is played by overblowing and sounds in the harmonic scale. By covering the lower end you can obtain another scale.
At the Koncovka Karpaty the blow pipe redirects the air so that one can reach the end of the pipe with the other hand. In addition, the blow pipe has a cork stopper at the bottom, which allows condensation, that occurs during playing, to escape easily.
A special feature is that the diameter of our deeper and longer flutes has been reduced at the lower end so that even instruments with a large inner diameter can easily be closed with a finger.
Our Koncovka is hand-crafted in the Czech Republic from elderberry by a Slovakian artisan in the highest craftsmanship perfection and in Slovakian tradition. Each instrument is unique in its form and some are even lovingly engraved. The surface of the flute is, following the old tradition, sealed with linseed oil.
These flutes are wonderful in sound, form and workmanship and our special recommendation!
